Issue: May Insider Update to 1903 won’t install: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 x64 2019-04. Windows Update shows “Updates available” but with a yellow exclamation mark, a status of “pending download” and the note “We found some issues. Your PC has a driver or service that isn’t ready for this version of Windows 10. No action is needed. Windows Update will offer this version of Windows 10 automatically once the issue has been resolved.
You then have the option to “refresh” (like… take a shower?) which doesn’t seem and the only way out is to click the X to close the Windows 10 Update window which then uninstalls whatever was installed that wouldn’t install… So yeah, no dice on the update.
Solution: Uninstall Battle Eye software. And by uninstall I mean delete. Find the install folders like this: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\*GameName*\BattlEye” and delete the Battle Eye folder. I had three of them.
This is the Microsoft KB on the issue – Update blocked for Insiders! It suggests external media as the issue.
