Dell Latitude 7400 laptops after upgrading to Windows 10 21H2 may have issues with the touchpad being unresponsive. When running on battery your Latitude Touchpad may not respond when waking the laptop from sleep. This prevents you from logging in, selecting any available options – with the only option being a hard shutdown using the power button.
Solution – Temporary
- Press the power button for Sleep Mode, then press again after button goes dark to wake back up. Touchpad will function as normal until issue recurs.
Solution – Permanent:
- Upgrade your Latitude 7400 to BIOS 1.19 or higher
